“I know its hard mama”

Have you ever heard the phrase ‘the days are long but the years are short’ regarding having children and being a parent?

Some days feel more of a struggle than others and that it’s never ending. While other days seem to all blur into one – I’ll be honest, I don’t know what day of the week it is half the time!!

But what they all have in common, is that they’re precious moments spent with our little one(s). Time flies when you’re having fun, we need to seize each moment.

Meg McMillan

From crawling to walking, teeth and talking, there are so many ‘first’ moments that we as parents want to treasure. And so we should! We created these little people, we should celebrate everything about them.

What might seem trivial to someone might be a big deal to you. I think sometimes parents compare/compete against each other. Every child develops in their own way at their own rate. It’s hard work for them, learning and developing all at the same time. We just need to help them along the way and enjoy the ride.

I know a lot of parents/family members snap away taking photos and videos. Which is great, but at the same time it can feel like you’re missing out on actually enjoying the moment itself.

It would be great to have a secret paparazzi capturing the moments for you – then you could be in the photos too!

Kayla Rae Reid

Physical items can also conjure up a memory rather than photos. First pair of shoes, a certain outfit, favourite teddy or story etc. You can also get traditional keepsake memory blankets and bears etc

You often hear about a m/paternal bond or relationship between a parent and her child. Whilst normally associated with pregnancy or childbirth, this bond may also develop between other figures who aren’t the genetic parent.

For example it could be with adoption, another family member or friend.

We are able to thrive under the influence of anyone who acts as the primary caretaker. Love, affection, protection, and nurturance are the main necessary components in securing a healthy bond.

It doesn’t matter how old you are either. Newborn, child or adult, we all still have a connection with the parent figures in our lives. As you grow so does the relationship.

Oh to be young again!

Apart from the random A-Z challenge blogs you’ll see!

This month I have 2 events for you.

Kids Kraft mini event – only on Facebook – on 10th June.

Kids Kingdom Fabulous Day event – on all platforms.

Oh to be young again

I always think children are so much more fearless than adults. They definitely dance like no one is watching, and sing like no one is listening. They live life to the full by seeing the hope in everything, dreaming big, making the most of a situation and trying new things.

By forgetting some of the seriousness and complications of “adulting”, you can embrace your inner courageous, crazy, creative inner-child.

Here are just a few examples of how a child-like attitude/behaviour might be something us adults should take note of!

Perseverance

Call it stubbornness or determination, depending on what it is, kids fight hard for what they want. Nothing is too difficult, and they welcome a challenge. All too often, adults are guilty of falling at the first hurdle, or even not trying in the first place. This could be lack of motivation or willpower to pursue something. As adults, we seem to avoid what we don’t know and we stay safely in our comfort zone, afraid of what if’s.

Stop and appreciate the little things

Sometimes we’re so busy going about our daily lives, that we forget the beauty of what is around us – a beautiful sunset, the colour or pattern of something, or even wandering how something works.

Children are on a quest for knowledge, asking who, what, where, why, or how. They enjoy exploring and engaging with their surroundings, finding and having fun with whatever they can.

If only we could take a step back and enjoy the simpler things more. I know this easier said than done for adults, as time is a big factor in being able to slow down and stop to see what’s been under your nose the whole time

Love

Not only do our kids love us unconditionally, but they teach us what love is in a way we could never have imagined.

A new-born has the ability to recognise their caregiver and seek them out over others. And this continues through childhood – in the eyes of our children, we are superheroes and someone to look up to.

The same could be said for their favourite toy. You know the one, that one that has to go everywhere with them, and you dread them losing! If only we as adults could find comfort in and have such a strong bond with someone/something

Speaking their mind

Kids don’t hold back when it comes to being open and honest. Sometimes this might be inappropriate or not channelled in the right way, but you can’t accuse a child of bottling things up. We could definitely help ourselves if we tactfully and politely were honest with people

Be like Peter

J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan focuses on how children are lovely and innocent that it seems a shame that they have to stop being children eventually.

Our childhood can’t last forever, but we shouldn’t completely abandon it either. The carefree, adventurous, playful spirit of Peter stops us becoming rigid, irritable and dull like Mr. Darling.

Moving from Capricorn to Sagittarius

Celebrating our Starsigns and Birthdays event

I’m sure you’ve all heard about a 13th starsign and the changes made or not made to the zodiac.

Some people think NASA discovered it but it’s actually been there all along. The Babylonians left it out because it didn’t match up with their system of pairing the stars with the months of the year.

But if we use the new starsign with the 12 we already use the zodiac as we know it now stands as thus:

  • Capricorn: Jan 20 – Feb 16
  • Aquarius: Feb 16 – March 11
  • Pisces: March 11 – April 18
  • Aries: April 18 – May 13
  • Taurus: May 13 – June 21
  • Gemini: June 21 – July 20
  • Cancer: July 20 – Aug 10
  • Leo: Aug 10 – Sept 16
  • Virgo: Sept 16 – Oct 30
  • Libra: Oct 30 – Nov 23
  • Scorpio: Nov 23 – Nov 29
  • Ophiuchus: Nov 29 – Dec 17
  • Sagittarius: Dec 17 – Jan 20

I (Emily) am quite happy with this change – as I never fully fit in my own sign, so I thought I would dedicate this blog to me!

More specifically how the introduction of the new star sign Ophiuchus has moved me from a Capricorn to a Sagittarius.

I was born on the 12 January some 40+ years ago, which means I was born under the star sign Capricorn, the goat. I have detailed some of the positive and negative traits of a Capricorn and have put a * against the ones I resonate with, but there is one trait that is missing and describes me most accurately. I am not sure which side you would put it under as it is both a positive and a negative trait. Above all of the traits listed below, I am STUBBORN. My husband says I am beyond stubborn and it makes him mad as I will not accept help.

CAPRICORN - POSITIVE TRAITS

CAPRICORN – NEGATIVE TRAITS

* Wise
* Respectful
* Realistic
* Hardworking
* Scrupulous
* Organised
* Patient Ambitious
Business Orientated
Self-disciplined
* Practical
* Reliable
* Methodical
* Cautious
* Responsible
* Introvert
* Caring
* Open Hearted
Nosey
Cynical
* Fatalistic
Selfish
Unforgiving
Manipulative
Egotistical
* Plodding
Lovers
* Pessimistic
* Cautious
* Cheap
* Melancholy
Rarely Satisfied

However, this means that Sagittarius has moved to 17th December – 20th January and pushes me firmly from Capricorn to Sagittarius.

So, what does this mean for me?

Well, I have always had tendencies that fall within the Sagittarius sign (as marked below with a *) and for me this mixing the two signs together makes me feel more complete as I never felt quite right sitting solely within Capricorn. I am much happier being a half and half.

SAGITTARIUS – POSITIVE TRAITS

SAGITTARIUS – NEGATIVE TRAITS

* Honest
* Straightforward
Intellectual
Philosophical
* Enthusiastic
Optimistic
Freedom Loving
* Broadminded
* Adventurous
* Religious
* Scholarly
Social
Charming
Charismatic
Loveable
Hilarious
* Fair-minded
* Honest
Spontaneous
* Smart
* Creative
* Forgetful
Hot-headed
Outspoken
Domineering
Argumentative
Over-confident
Over-exaggerate.
Blindly optimistic
Dogmatic
Impulsive
* Impatient
Restless
Careless
* Tactless
* Aloof
* Blunt
Irresponsible
Self-Indulgent
Exaggerative
Talkative
Procrastinating
Pushy
Gamblers

My Dad was very much a Sagittarius – he most definitely fit this this star sign. Most of his traits were on the negative side though although he was charismatic and loveable, making life with Dad interesting to say the least.

Ophiuchus – the Serpent Bearer

So, Ophiuchus – the Serpent Bearer (November 29 – December 17), how do they fair with the new sign’s personality and traits? Lets see:

OPHIUCHUS – POSITIVE TRAITS

OPHIUCHUS – NEGATIVE TRAITS

Optimistic
Freedom Loving
Challenging
Searching
Adventurous
Spontaneous
Ambitious
Determined
Trustworthy
Independent
Logical
Intellectual
Creative
Secretive
Jealous
Anti-Social
Restless
Short-Tempered
Procrastinating
Explosive temper
Egotistical
Impulsive
Arrogant
Introvert
Judgement
Critical
So, how do you feel about the new zodiac.

Does your new sign (if you have moved) fit your personality?

We would love to know about it. Let us know in the comments and tell us all about it and whether you agree with the changes.

I’m seeing lots of marvellous moons

for my upcoming Starsigns and Birthdays online shopping events on 29th April and it’s just so magical x

You can shop anytime from now until end of May for items in this event

I’ve tidied up my shop for you, hope you like it

Before you do go looking though, let me show you what will be available for this event with the awesome video below.

Turn the music on and you’ll be singing it all day !

This event is different to all the others as it’s an Etsy Party.

What does that mean?

It means I’ll be showcasing business pages that have Etsy shops but can’t get them seen. The products for this event will go in my KLE favourites but they are the only ones affiliated. This means that clicking to buy will take you to their Etsy page. You won’t be able to purchase on the website like with all the other events.

Keep a look out for the next video with even more creations to admire !

KLE is a community and I love it

KL Online Shopping Events (KLE) has been supporting businesses since opening in 2017 and over the years I’ve tried so hard to make it a community. Somewhere for sellers and shoppers to come together to network and chat. Not just show off creations and services but really get to know one another.

supporting small businesses
196 actually !

Community – “a social group of any size whose members reside in a specific locality, share government, and often have a common cultural and historical heritage”

My community is wide...

I obviously have my KLE Facebook page and website where I share product photos, videos, myself but I also have…

A free training group on Facebook for small businesses; where they can ask questions without being judged; where they can learn basics and more advanced parts of being a business, and where they can network with new and old Facebook businesses.

I have the brand new free KLE Craft Shopping Group on Facebook for sellers to post their pages and products, and for shoppers to get to know owners and browse without being pestered by spam videos or networking posts that they don’t need to see.

selling and shopping group
104 members by day 3, 2 sales that I know of (public ones) and I welcome every single newbie that posts so they feel part of the community

My website vendors are in another Facebook group where they can chat, train and be shown stats from the website.

I have a Facebook application group for stall holders wanting to join my events. They can see each theme and decide what would be best suited for their business.

I know, it sounds like I have loads of groups but you only join what you need. If I had all these together it wouldn’t work for anyone. It would be a mess.

I monitor all these groups and always reply to any queries.

You can also apply for events on my website (not everyone likes FB!) 😉

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing that my events have brought businesses together in collaboration. This is what I love the most.

I’ve seen a few businesses evolve from selling just one item type to a selection, and even opening new pages. One has even helped support a physical business that wasn’t online, by putting her products in their store.

Businesses have collaborated for my events too … and this is fine, I don’t mind this and actually think it’s wonderful. They both join and advertise their shared product, or one joins and does all the sharing.

You can join my community on Facebook or leave a comment on my website blogs… I’ll always reply x

(unless you’re a spammer…I get rid of those all the time!)
